This tutorial will teach you how to make your own scroll bar and code it. Below are two types of customized scroll bars you can create.
Coding
In your Style Sheet, there will be a code similiar to the one shown below; if not feel free to add it.
Using that code, edit all the parts that say "COLOUR CODE HERE" with a Hex Code eg #000000.
Parts of a Scroll Bar
To code a scroll bar, you need to know which bit is worth what, so here is a diagram I made to make it easier for you to code you customized scroll bar:
How to do it
Now, here are a few tips on when coding your scroll bar, you can use the diagram above to help you remeber which bit I am talking about ^_~
3D LIGHT COLOUR: I usually make this colour the second lightest
colour on the scroll bar, to give it a 3D effect.
SHADOW COLOUR:This would be the second darkest colour on the scroll bar,
try to make it a bit darker than the face colour.
ARROW COLOUR: This is the little arrow at the ends of the scrollbars, (as show in the diagram) It would be best to use the darkest colour in the shade you are doing, or the same colour for the shadow colour, or the dark shadow colour so you can see the arrow, or you can use a really light colour like the nearest colour to white in that shade.
HIGHLIGHT COLOUR: This is the lightest colour of the scroll bar, you may use white but I tend to use the nearest colour to white in that shade, as it fits in better and is not so bright lol.
TRACK COLOUR: This is the colour that you see the most when you have lots of content, and I would suggest you use the same colour as you did for the face colour, or make it the same colour as you are using for your background colour of your layout.
DARKSHADOW COLOUR: This is the darkest colour on the scroll bar, try to make it a bit darker than the shadow colour.
FACE COLOUR: The face colour is the main part of the scroll bar (as you can see above ^ ^) and it would be best to have a colour that matches the best with your layout.
